From the Philippine Information Agency (Mar 26): PRO 10 condemns NPA on their recent atrocities
Police Regional Office (PRO) 10 condemns in strongest terms the hostile action of the New People’s Army (NPA) of burning the heavy equipment of Del Monte plantation sites in Northern Mindanao—Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental provinces—since January 2017 up to the present.
PCSupt Agripino G Javier, PRO 10 director said this is a clear indication of the armed rebel’s sustained violation of human rights to earn a living and live peacefully.
PRO 10 declared full alert status effective March 24 as the NPA will celebrate its 48th Founding Anniversary on March 29 as its preemptive effort to protect the community from any atrocities that the NPA may undertake during the celebration of their anniversary.
They might take advantage by conducting series of atrocities. Nonetheless, the public is assured that the PNP and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will support each other in conducting law enforcement operations against these criminals and lawless elements, said PSupt Lemuel Gonda, PRO 10 spokesperson.
PRO 10 encourages the people to strongly deny the rebel group activities and report them immediately to the authorities. The PNP further calls on the armed rebels to lay down their arms and return to the their families who need them very much in order to enjoy the life of being peaceful and to help the government develop the country into a peaceful place to live and enjoy the graces of God.
