From GMA News (Dec 22): IED explodes on roadside in Shariff Aguak
An improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao on Thursday morning, a report on Super Radyo dzBB said.
Lt. Col. Lauro Oliveros, commander of the 1st Mechanized Battalion of the Philippine Army in Maguindanao, said in the radio interview that the IED exploded around 7:10 a.m. on Thursday at Brgy. Satan.
Oliveros said the military had no operations at that time and the IED was only left on the road.
Some soldiers had just passed by the road where the IED was planted when it exploded, he added.
Oliveros said no group or entity has claimed responsibility to the explosion yet.
No one from the part of the army was hurt in the incident, he added.
