(UPDATED WITH VIDEO) It seems it was not only in the streets of urban centers, including Manila, that the #BlackFriday protests against the dictator Ferdinand Marcos' burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani took place.
The Apolonio Mendoza Command of the New People's Army in Quezon province posted photos on social media showing guerrillas holding signs saying #TaksilHindiBayani (A traitor not a hero) and "Marcos no hero," among the many phrases adopted as slogans and hastags for Friday's protests.
Jaime "Ka Diego" Padilla, the spokesman of the NPA's Melito Glora Command, who was introduced to media this week, also posted a video voicing support for the #BlackFriday rallies in Calamba, Laguna and across the country as he called on people to continue demanding accountability from the Marcos family and protest the "kahangalan" (absurdity) of President Rodrigo Duterte and the Supreme Court for allowing the dictator to be buried in the country's "Heroes' Cemetery."
