Two civilians are wounded in the incident
An improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in front of a church in Sultan Kudarat on Sunday, November 27, wounding two people, the military said.
The IED explosion occurred at around 6:40 am Sunday in front of the Our Lady of Hope Parish Church in Barangay Saliao, Esperanza town, according to Capt Arvin Encinas, 6th Infantry Division public affairs officer.
Two civilians were wounded in the incident, the initial report said.
After the explosion, soldiers from the 57th Infantry Battalion helped secure the scene and set up checkpoints near the area.
There is no information yet on who are behind the incident.
