Complaints have been filed against the two suspects in Saturday's ambush of a local TV news crew in Marawi City, police said Tuesday.
The suspects were identified as Yusop Sangcad and Nasser Masurong, residents of Barangay Lilod Madaya.
According to Chief Inspector Parson Asadil, Marawi City Police Station chief, the two were identified by witnesses.
Asadil filed a case of attempted murder against the two before the City Prosecutor's Office there on Monday.
"We already created a Task Group to conduct further investigation on the incident and to immediately arrest the suspects," he said.
Three members of a news team of ABS-CBN Iligan City were ambushed in Marawi City last Saturday afternoon, while they were working on a follow-up story on the recent bombing of a tower of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines.
Attackers on motorcycle shot at the Ford pickup (WMW 435) of the crew, who were identified as Ronnie Enderes, reporter; Emilito Balansag, cameraman; and Garie Montecilio, driver.
The three were unhurt in the incident, the police report said, adding that two empty shells of cal-.45 handgun were recovered from the crime scene.
Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Gov. Mujiv Hataman condemned the attack and ordered an investigation of the incident.
In a statement, ABS-CBN News said it was relieved that the whole crew was unharmed. It urged the authorities to investigate the attack and "bring the perpetrators to justice soonest."
