Almost, if not all newly-acquired military equipment, will
be presented to the public during the 80th founding anniversary of the Armed
Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Dec. 21.
Ceremonies will be held first time at Clark Air Base, Angeles City , Pampanga, said AFP spokesperson
Col. Restituto Padilla.
Equipment to be presented include the newly-acquired South
Korean-made FA-50PHs light-interim fighter aircraft, Airbus Military C-295
medium transport, AgustaWestland AW-109 "Power" attack helicopters
and the US-donated M-113A2 armored personnel carriers, among others.
All of these items were delivered this 2015.
Aside from this, newly-acquired humanitarian and assistance
disaster relief equipment, military trucks and artillery pieces will also be
presented.
Padilla said the presentation of these newly-acquired
materiel is to show the public that all funds allocated for the AFP
Modernization Program are being spent wisely and not a lip service as being
claimed by some sectors.
