Gen. Hernando Delfin Carmelo Iriberri, Armed Forces
chief-of-staff, has ordered the new commander of the Western Mindanao Command

Westmincom chief.
Dela Cruz, in his more than 30 years in the military
service, served in various command and staff positions the recent of which as
the commander of the Army’s Mechanized Infantry Division.
Dela Cruz, who is from Bocaue, Bulacan, is a member of the
Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Matikas” Class of 1983.
Iriberri noted that Guerrero has elevated the standard
performance of the officers and enlisted personnel during his more than two
years stint as the commander of Westmincom.
“He (Guerrero) made them accomplish their mission way beyond
expectation,” he added.
Among the accomplishment of Westmincom, under Guerrero’s
stint, are the following: neutralized 804 enemy personalities; recovered 232
assorted firearms and 145 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and materials;
seized 44 enemy camps; and, six personalities surrendered through the
integration program.
In support to national development, Westmincom with Guerrero
as the commander has conducted 4,380 activities in support to environment
protection and other government agencies, ventures for peace and development
and a total of 246 projects were accomplished in support to developmental
projects.
Guerrero told the officers and men as well as the civilian
employees of Westmincom to extend their full support and cooperation the way
they did during his time.
He also urged the other concerned stakeholders to continue
their support to the Westmincom, now under the leadership of Dela Cruz.

lawless elements to including the Abu Sayyaf brigands.
Dela Cruz, met with the Westmincom field commanders,
Saturday afternoon to abreast himself on the prevailing situation within the
