Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. yesterday said the declaration of Negros Occidental as “Peaceful and Ready for Further Development” will further boost investor confidence in the province.
The Provincial Peace and Order Council will convene at the Capitol in Bacolod City at 9 a.m. today to declare the 1st, 5th and 6th districts of Negros Occidental “Peaceful and Ready for Further Development Districts”, Provincial Planning and Development Officer Marlin Sanogal said.
Earlier, the 2 nd , 3 rd and 4 th districts had similar declarations.
This will be followed by a program at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Activity Center at 10 a.m. today, where the governor will declare the entire province as “Peaceful and Ready for Further Development”.
The governor will then deliver a message, to be followed by the signing of a pledge for peace and development.
Gen. Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr., chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, will deliver a message at the program.
