The Armed Forces on Thursday stated that newly-appointed Philippine Air Force (PAF) commander, Major Gen. Jeffrey Delgado, is a seasoned attack pilot.
Aside from this, the military lauded the promotion of Delgado who is slated to succeed the retiring PAF chief, Lt. Gen. Lauro Catalino Dela Cruz, who leaves the military service Friday.
"The AFP welcomes the appointment of Major Gen. Jeffrey Delgado as the new Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force, replacing retiring Lt. Gen. Lauro Catalino Dela Cruz. Major Gen. Delgado is an experienced pilot, who flew MG-520s (attack helicopters) and T-28 'Trojan' (ground attack plane) in close air support operations," said AFP public affairs office chief Lt. Col. Ramon Zagala.
Aside from this, Delgado also commanded the Cavite City-based 15th Strike Wing, one of the PAF's major units, before being appointed AFP deputy chief of staff for plans.
Delgado is a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1982.
