With the impending retirement of Philippine Air Force (PAF) commander Lt. Gen. Lauro Catalino Dela Cruz on Friday, Major Gen. Jeffrey F. Delgado was appointed to succeed the former at the helm of the PAF.
Delgado is a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Magilas” Class of 1982.
Prior to his appointment as 33rd PAF commanding officer, Delgado was the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)'s deputy chief-of-staff for plans.
Aside from being a graduate of the PMA, the new PAF commander has a Masters in Development Management in 1999 from the Asian Institute of Management, Masters in Business Administration in 1987 from De La Salle University, Joint War Fighting/Combined Operations Course, Joint Transition Course from Virginia, United States, Command and General Staff Course and other significant military courses he took up here and in abroad.
He was also recently awarded as Cavalier Awardees for Staff Function during the PMA Alumni Homecoming last February 2014.
Delgado is also a seasoned military combat pilot and has been designated in various relevant and strategic positions in the PAF and in the AFP in general.
