Government forces neutralized two drug suspects and seized shabu in a buy-bust in Marawi City on October 7.

Bokharo Alawi died after eluding arrest by operating troops in Barangay Marawi Poblacion at 3:45pm on Monday.

Troops nabbed Salaharie Alawi and recovered one caliber .38 revolver, shabu, and P1000 marked money.

Soldiers of 82nd Infantry Battalion operated with Marawi City Police Station, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit I, and 1403rd Regional Mobile Force Battalion.

Government forces brought Salaharie and said pieces of evidence to the laboratory of Regional Crime Laboratory Office for proper disposition and examination.

“Our ground forces complement relative measures taken by law enforcement agencies to advance our anti-illegal drug campaign and curb lawlessness in the area of operation,” said Col. Jose Maria Cuerpo II, 103rd Infantry Brigade Acting Commander

“With integration of efforts, we are confident that more results will be achieved to end perennial problems caused by illegal drug activities and the proliferation of loose firearms in the area,” said Maj. Gen. Roberto Ancan, Joint Task Force Zampelan Commander.

“We make proactive and collaborative efforts to ensure efficient operations are delivered to neutralize lawless elements and remove tools of violence utilized by those who perpetrate crimes and sow terror in communities,” said Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commander of Western Mindanao Command.

“We assure you of our sincerity and commitment in addressing security issues to bring peace and progress in Mindanao,” he added.
