Rodrigo Duterte’s insinuation that the New People’s Army in North Central Mindanao Region (NPA-NCMR) is “paralyzed” is baseless. In less than a monthbefore and after Duterte’s State of the Nation Address last July 22, the NPA inthe region mounted 13 offensives against elements of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
More than 30 soldiers were killed and not less than 20 were wounded in the AFP ranks.
On July 28, the NPA-Agusan del Norte went against troopers of the 23rd IB in Sitio Hinandayan, Brgy. Camagong, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte. Five soldiers were killed and five wounded.
The 65th IB also sustained four KIA and eight WIA in the action launched by the NPA-Misamis Oriental on July 30, at 1:10 ma.m., in Brgy. Pigsag-an, Cagayan de Oro City.
On July 26, NPA-Bukidnon ambushed troopers of the 8th IB in Sitio Mahan-ao, Brgy. Bulunay, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon. Three soldiers were killed.On August 5, NPA-Agusan del Sur attacked the forces of the 26th IB in KM.30, Brgy. Mahayahay, San Luis, Agusan del Sur. AFP suffered one KIA and one WIA.
On August 9, NPA-Bukidnon attacked the forces of the 65th IB in Sityo Kibulag, Brgy. Baoaingod, Tagoloan 2, Talacag, Bukidnon. One soldier was killed while four were wounded.
In these offensives, two NPA fighters–Jenos “Ka Bebs” Bade and Edmar “Ka Lenon” Laruya heroically offered their lives for the triumph of the offensives. Hence, we payhighest tribute to their revolutionary sacrifices.
The intensified NPA offensives prove that the fascist, corrupt and tyrant US-Duterte regime’s statements are simply baseless. The NPA will always be capable and surefooted beacause of the people’s firm and ardent support for their army.
