Three more men tagged in the killing of four intelligence officers in Ayungon, Negros Oriental, on July 18 were arrested in Badian town, Cebu province, on Wednesday.

Police identified the suspects as Danny Harold Tancinco, Ronnie Herebias, and Marlon Basalo, who were arrested shortly after the motorbanca they boarded docked at Lambug Beach in Badian.

The three suspects who carried backpacks were “visibly seen holding short firearms,” according to the police report. They also yielded firearms, explosives, cash and subversive documents

Recovered from Tancinco were a .38 caliber revolver with four live ammunition, two rifle grenades, P710 cash, and some subversive documents.

Herebias yielded a .45 caliber firearm with five live ammunition and a magazine, grenade, P9,000 cash, tactical maps, wristwatch, documents, and personal belongings, while Basalo yielded a .38 revolver with five live ammunition, two 40MM M203 ammunition, P7,460 cash, six cellphone battery packs, and documents.

Brigadier General Debold Sinas, Police Regional Office-7 based in Cebu City, told reporters that the suspects confessed who they are, adding that they went to Cebu because authorities were after them in Ayungon.

He said the arrest of the suspects was also through the efforts of the Barangay Intelligence Network in Ayungon.

Their arrest came just two days after two other suspects in the cops’ slay were nabbed at a checkpoint in Ayungon town.

The three suspects will face charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and RA 9516 or the Unlawful Manufacture, Sale, Acquisition, Disposition, Importation or Possession of an Explosive or Incendiary Device.

The four policemen were among the 21 individuals who were shot dead in Negros Oriental in 10 days, from July 18 to July 28.
