ZAMBOANGA CITY - Three people were killed while 3 others were arrested after government troops raided a house in Basilan at dawn Friday, authorities said.
The casualties included 2 former Abu Sayyaf men who earlier surrendered to the military and a member of the Moro National Liberation Front, Mayor Ibrahim Ballaho said.
The two former bandits were beneficiaries of the Program Against Violent Extremism of the defunct Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
Ballaho could not give further details of the raid in Sitio Kasangyangan, Barangay Candiis, Mohammad Ajul town.
He said local officials would investigate the incident after families of the slain persons claimed police violated their rights.
