From the Manila Bulletin (Feb 25): Manhunt staged for ASG terrorists
Police are now conducting a manhunt operation against a suspected terrorist of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) who allegedly shot dead a village officer and wounded four others in Basilan on Saturday the Police Regional Office in Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PRO-ARMM) disclosed today.

Chief Supt. Graciano Mijares, regional director of the Police Regional Office-ARMM, identified the suspect as Abu Alam Abbas (male), 30, an alleged member of the ASG.
Killed in the incident was Ammohong Munjalil (male), 46, an officer of Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) while the wounded were identified as Nasser Musa, 34; Halid Majid (both males), 21; Hatif Itih Adjatu, 50, housekeeper; and Misty Rasida Sali (both females), legal age.
Initial investigation revealed that Musa and Majid were traversing Sitio Fuente, Barangay Tuburan in Hji. Mohammad Ajul, Basilan on board a motorcycle (XRM-125) when Abbas attacked them around 8 a.m.
Concerned citizens managed to call for help from the nearby barangay office but responding BPAT officer Munjalil was shot in the head by Abbas.
Mijares said Munjalil was killed immediately while Abbas, seeing his targets Musa and Majid down, immediately fled to an unknown location.
Adjatu and Sali, who were just doing laundry at the area, were both hit by stray bullets, Mijares added.
The four wounded victims were rushed to Lamitan District Hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds in the body, he added.
Mijares immediately ordered manhunt against the suspect as a follow-up probe was already conducted to determine the motive behind the killing.
