The 9th Infantry "Spear" Division (9ID) achieved a significant victory as they neutralized Wilhem Señar, alias Lucky, a member of the New People's Army (NPA), in an encounter in Barangay Lidong, Presentacion, Camarines Sur on Friday, February 2.

The clash started at 10:25 AM and lasted five minutes before the six (6) armed men from Platoon 2, Komiteng Larangan Guerilla 1, Sub-regional Committee 2 scampered into different directions.

The 83IB successfully seized four (4) high-powered firearms, one low-powered firearm, 12 magazines, two bandoliers, documents, terrorist equipment, and personal belongings left by fleeing NPA members at the encounter site.
 
Acting on intelligence report about the group causing fear in the area, the 83IB engaged in a confrontation with no reported injuries on the government's side.

While the leadership of the 9ID considers the weapons recovery a triumph, they express regret over the loss of life, emphasizing the repeated calls for NPA members to reintegrate into society.
 
The government remains committed to ensure the safety and security of its citizens, addressing threats posed by armed groups in collaboration with local communities.
