BALER, Aurora-The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Roy A. Cimatu visited the province of Aurora to push people-centered agenda in pursuit of environmental protection and sustainable development with full support of the citizenry.
DENR Secretary Cimatu shares his significant moment on what the departments have achieved something significant together with the Provincial Environment and Natural Office (PENRO) headed by Alfredo Collado, Community Environment and natural resources offices (CENROs), Aurora Police Provincial Office Provincial Director Police Col. Julio Lizardo, Jr., 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion, Philippine Army Commander Lt. Col. Reandrew P. Rubio and other concerned agencies in the province of Aurora.
He personally lauded the efforts of the personnel of DENR as a whole in the province in the fight against illegal loggers to carry out the tasks of protecting the environment and ensuring sustainable use of the province’s rich natural resources in the face of climate change amidst the pandemic.
The secretary also commended the full support of the PNP Aurora and the 91st IB in the mission of the DENR.
He also called on the public (citizenry) to continually support the DENR in the protection of the environment wherein the Aurora maintains clean air, water, rivers, and a clean environment.
During the program, the 91st IB headed by Rubio personally thanked and accepted the motor Banca which will use in the internal security operations of the Philippine Army; humanitarian assistance, disaster response operations; law enforcement support operations; it could also be used in the coming national elections in the transport of ballots, and maritime operations in the 337 kilometers coastline barangays from Dingalan to Dilasag towns (Maria Aurora town is landlocked).
“We vowed to continually exert our best effort to return the favor through providing peace, order, and public safety. Just I have said before, floating asset is very important because 45% of the total barangays in the province of Aurora are situated in the coastal areas, moreso, the enemy build-up is in the coastal. The terrorist group was already dismantled,” Rubio said.
He also reported to Sec. Cimatu that the 91st IB has confiscated 12,500 bd. Ft.
Rubio added that the 91st IB already conducted 5-day maritime law enforcement operations training together with the other security forces from the PNP, Philippine Coast Guard, Reservists.
“Rest assured that we will take good care of the motorboat Banca, we will maintain it because not all battalions had floating asset unless you assigned in the riverine battalion under the special forces regiment,” Rubio said.
