Posted to Kalinaw News (Jan 5, 2022): 3rd Infantry Division army troops distribute relief goods from Landers Superstore to over 3,400 families in Central Visayas
Troops of Joint Task Group Cebu composed of personnel from Charlie Company, 82IB; 14th CMO Battalion and 9th Marine Battalion Landing Team (MARU) under the leadership of COL JERRY T BORJA, Group Commander, JTG-Cebu, in collaboration with the Local Government Units of Lapulapu City headed by Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan, distributed relief food packs and bottled mineral water to the affected families/households who were victims of typhoon Odette in the following areas namely: Sitio Toril, Brgy Canjulao; Brgy Babag; Brgy Calawisan; Brgy Marigondon; Brgy Subasbas all in Lapulapu City from 02-03 January 2022.
On 02 January 2022 in Brgy Canjulao: more or less 2,000 families from 19 Urban Poor Organizations received 1,175 packs, 5kg each of Rice and 1,352 bottles (500ml) of Mineral Water
On 03 January 2022 in Brgy Babag, Brgy Calawisan, Brgy Marigondon and Brgy Subasbas with more or less 1,400 beneficiares received 1,464 food packs containing cans of sardines, tuna, corned beef, pork beans, sausage, spam and packs of noodles, pancit canton and brown sugar and 1,400 bottles of mineral water.
“Let’s continue doing ‘Bayanihan’ to help Odette-hit communities recover from the trauma and damage brought by the typhoon. Rest assured that your Army in Western and Central Visayas will be your partner in helping and delivering the needed assistance to our countrymen. Let’s us work hand-in-hand to overcome this challenge and together we rise as one,” said MGen Benedict Arevalo, Commander, 3ID.
