Reagan Taub, alias Ka Apyot, an alleged member of the New People’s Army Central Negros (Front) 1
The long arm of the law finally caught up with an alleged member of the New People’s Army, who was tagged as among the suspects in the killing of four civilians, in Sitio Agit, Brgy. Trinidad, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.
Reagan Taub, alias Ka Apyot, an alleged member of the New People’s Army Central Negros (Front) 1, was arrested by the police and 62nd Infantry Battalion on October 13 during a joint law enforcement operation in Brgy. Calupaan, Guihulngan City.
Guihulngan Regional Trial Court Judge Mario Trinidad has issued an arrest warrant against Taub, for the crime of murder, with no bail recommended.
Lt. Col. Melvin Flores, 62nd Infantry Battalion commander, said that Taub participated in the killing of four civilians on May 14 this year in Sitio Agit, Brgy. Trinidad, Guihulngan City.
The victims were identified earlier by Brig. Gen. Inocencio Pasaporte, 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, as Ronilo Quirante, Roger Fat, as well as couple Rodrigo and Cerelina Lubay, who were murdered on suspicions of being military informants.
Flores also said that Taub, whose arrest yielded a .45 caliber pistol and subversive documents, was also involved in the killing of Sgt. De Ramas on 2019, also in Guihulngan City.
