Tabuan-lasa, Basilan – The Provincial Government of Basilan headed by Governor Jim Hataman-Salliman together with Brigadier General Domingo B Gobway, the Brigade Commander of Joint Task Force Basilan – 101st Infantry Brigade, Joint Normalization Committee, and the Local Government Unit of Tabuan-lasa facilitated the stenciling and inventory of eighteen (18) unregistered high-powered firearms and two (2) pistols that were turned-over to the military at Barangay Bukut-Umos on 10 August 2021.
The stenciling and inventory is in connection to the sustainment of Small Arms and Light Weapons Program which bolsters the peace and security of Municipality of Tabuan-lasa.
First Lieutenant Alvin Balangcod, the Commanding Officer of 14th Special Forces Company, encourages others who have not yet registered their firearms to cooperate with the Government.
The people of Saluping Island are grateful to Lieutenant Colonel Alex D Ampati, the Commanding Officer of 4th Special Forces, for the unit’s support in sustaining peace in their community.
The activity were also attended by Mr. Manny Muarip, the Provincial Administrator, Atty. Yasmeen Junaid, the Municipal Administrator, Police Lieutenant Ritchel Perez, the PNP Chief of Tabuan-lasa, Barangay Chairmen, different local leaders and stakeholders.
