SAN JOSE, Tarlac, Feb.26 (PIA) -- Newly-installed commander of the Army 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion (3rd Mech) committed to maintain the unit's excellent performance.In his speech during the Change of Command Ceremony, Lt. Col. Eugene Henry Cabusao said he is grateful for his new position even if it entails more responsibility.
"3rd Mech entails a broader mission, larger area of operations, and many more factors and elements to consider," Cabusao said.
"Nonetheless, I’m both excited and eager to keep learning and facing the challenges," he furthered.
Cabusao noted that he is in awe of the accomplishments of the former commander particularly the good relationship with the stakeholders.
"Following in your footsteps, it will be very hard to do better but I will serve all efforts to maintain the standards that you and our predecessors has set," he highlighted.

With this, he asked for the continuous guidance of the former commander and assured his new chiefs in the 703rd Brigade and 7th Infantry Division.
"To my new bosses, please be assured that I will do my best to ensure the success of my unit’s mission," he convinced.
For the personnel of 3rd Mech, he promised to be just and fair living up to the unit's tagline "Pusong Mabangis pero Makatarungan."
Prior to becoming the new commander of 3rd Mech, Cabusao served as Service Battalion Commanding Officer at Armor Division Headquarters.
Initially a cadet at the Philippine Military Academy, he eventually qualified and became part of the United States Military Academy Class of 1997.
3rd Mech's area of operation covers 3 cities, 31 municipalities, and 812 barangays in the provinces of Tarlac, Pampanga and Zambales. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
