From Panay News (Oct 10, 2020): 20 ex-rebels to benefit from gov’t integration program
Former members of the New People’s Army were presented to Antique Governor Rhodora Cadiao, Philippine National Police and Philippine Army at the Binirayan Gymnasium on August 7, 2020.
ANTIQUE – Twenty former rebels (FRs) who surrendered this year will benefit from the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP).
As part of ECLIP, the former members of the New People’s Army’s Northern and Central Front in Antique will be provided by the provincial government and local government agencies with livelihood programs, skills training, education, social and psychological rehabilitation, and security assurance.
With the Peace Order and Public Safety Office (POPS) as ECLIP facilitator, the FRs will receive the following:
● pangkabuhayan packages from Department of Trade and Industry
● skills training depending on FR’s interest from Technical Education and Skills Development Authority
● livestock from Department of Labor and Employment
● access to education through Alternative Learning System using the modular learning system from Department of Education
● employment opportunities in Department of Public Works and Highways’ roadside maintenance program
● PhilHealth’s free annual healthcare
● vegetable seeds from Office of the Provincial Agriculturist
● Provincial Health Office’s free health checkups
POPS Consultant Margie L. Gadian said these packages and benefits should be implemented and delivered to the FRs this month.
