BARANGAY OFFICIALS OF PALAWAN UNITED IN DECLARING THE CPP-NPA-NDF AS PERSONA NON GRATA
Puerto Princesa City - Palawan Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) through Provincial Social Welfare Development Office (PSWDO) in partnership with Team WESCOM conducted Awareness Symposium held at Circon Lodge, Mendoza Park, Puerto Princesa City on 26 November 2019. The participants of the forum are the chairpersons from affected Barangays in Palawan.
The barangay chairmen of Palawan strongly denounce any deceptive recruitment to any vulnerable sectors of our society and they are all united in declaring the CPP-NPA-NDF as persona non grata in the Province of Palawan.
The activity aims the participants from the Province of Palawan to have a common understanding and appreciation of the current security threats in the province particularly on the problem of Communist Insurgency. Likewise, participants were informed of the current efforts of the government in confronting the insurgency problem thru the recently organized Palawan Task Force ELCAC.
Through the PSWDO, on the other hand, barangay officials were able to provide services and assistance coming from the government especially to the rebel forces.
For the part of WESCOM, Vice Admiral Medina said that WESCOM continuously supports the Whole-of-Nation Approach to resolve decades of insurgency especially with the creation of National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict. The military cannot resolve this alone. It is the concerted efforts of national and local government agencies, local government units, sectoral groups, and the military.
PTF ELCAC is looking forward for the similar activities to undertake in the coming days to deepen the knowledge of every citizen in the barangays regarding the activities of the leftist groups that could harm their areas.
