CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao -- The Army's 6th Infantry Division (6ID) has produced 677 new soldiers who completed Friday a six-month rigorous training here.
Maj. Gen. Diosdado Carreon, 6ID commander, said the graduates comprised of 592 males and 85 females, who belong to the 2019 Candidate Soldier Classes 575, 591, 599, 600, and 601.
The new soldiers learned Transformation Module and Orientation Phase, Basic Soldiery Skills, and Field Training Exercise during the training held at the division's training school in Barangay Semba, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.
They were recruited through the different units based in Mindanao and these are: 52nd Engineering Brigade, Bukidnon; 54th Engineering Brigade, Zamboanga City; 4th Infantry Division, Cagayan de Oro City; 10th Infantry Division, Compostela Valley; 11th Infantry Division, Sulu; and 6th Infantry Division, Maguindanao.
The topnotchers of the five candidates soldiers (CS) classes are as follows: Rosalia Tarona, 93.44 percent general average, Class-575; Zaira Mae Cornel, 92.44 percent, Class-591; Gleir Presbitero, 93.42 percent, Class-599 and Class-600; Rochelle Wayno, 92.91 percent, Class-601.
CS Adrian Andog received the leadership award for male batches in Classes-599, 600 and 601 while CS Rosalia Tarona for female batches in Classes-575 and 591.
CS John Michael Cuerpo (Class-591), CS Vincent James Insidan (Class-601), CS Angelito Trapero (Class 600), CS Jirah Mea Fasoy (Class 599), and Jordan Gallano (Class 575), received the Top Gun Award as they obtaining the highest marksmanship rating.
Carreon, in his message to the graduates, said they should be proud of what they have learned during the training and should serve the Philippine Army with honor.
He also reminded them not to compromise their integrity since it will cost them their job.
The new graduates will be enlisted into the ranks of Private and will be deployed to the different units in Mindanao.
