PAGADIAN CITY — A Task Force was created to track the whereabouts of kidnap victims Allan Arthur Hyrons, a British national and wife Wilma, a government official said.
Zamboanga del Sur Governor Victor Yu said the Hyrons’ couple were abducted by 4 unidentified gunmen at their resort in Barangay Alindahaw in Tukuran on October 4.
Yu in an interview said, the Task Force is composed of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Marines, and Philippine Navy.
He said the provincial government is providing logistical support to the Task Force, including transportation, fuel, food and other immediate needs of the operatives.
It can be recalled that on the day of the incident, the good governor, offered P1-M reward money for any information to locate the victims.
Yu said that according to the information he received from the authorities, up to this report, the family of kidnap victims has not yet received a call from the kidnappers demanding a ransom in exchange for the release of the couple.
“The kidnap victims are believed to be somewhere in the coastal municipalities of the province and we are still in contact with the authorities. We will prevent them to go far from our province,” Yu announced.
The governor said authorities have already the lead on the suspects behind the abduction of Hyrons’ couple but they cannot give the details.
He also appealed to the people to remain in full alert and to report to authorities the presence of armed groups in their area, saying that peace and order and security is not the sole responsibility of the government but rather a shared responsibility with all sectors of society.
