The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association, Inc. formally signed a commitment to “always abide by law and to support the government’s efforts in establishing peace” in the city.

According to Talha Ali, National President of the association, this organization was founded in 1889 and has tens of millions of followers in over 200 countries.

During its annual convention held April 20 in the Harmony Village in Sinunuc, hundreds of Ahmadiyya community members gathered to sign the commitment in support to the government’s peace efforts.

Agencies that were represented and witnessed the commitment signing include the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), City Government of Zamboanga, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) and representatives from sectoral groups and other national and local government officials.
