A member of the Guerrilla Front 14 of the New People's Army surrendered to the Charlie Company of 75th Infantry Battalion at Barangay Bayugan 3, Rosario, Agusan del Sur on Oct. 25.
Capt. Edwin Leo Francisco, the civil-military operations (CMO) officer of 75th IB, said he surrendered bringing along with him a firearm .
The surrenderee was identified as alias Kalbo, 48, married and a resident of Rosario, Agusan del Sur. He brought along one .357 Magnum pistol loaded with ammunition.
Lt. Col. Jaime Datuin, commanding officer of the 75th IB, praised the decision of Kalbo to surrender.
“I encourage those rebels are still in the mountains to lay down your arms. We will assist you in your reintegration to our society," Datuin said.
“The government has the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program that former NPA terrorist can benefit from it, " he said." It will help you and your family start a new life away from chaos, hunger, and fear of losing your life from encounter with our troops," he added.
Alis Kalbo will be assisted by the 75th IB to be enrolled in the E-Clip in Agusan del Sur.
