MLANG, North Cotabato (DWDD) – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has identified the two (2) suspected bomb couriers earlier neutralized in Mlang North Cotabato.
In an interview by DWDD with 6th Infantry “Kampilan” Division commander Brigadier General Cirilito Sobejana, they have already identified the two suspects although it was withheld due to security reasons.
According to reports, soldiers of the 7th Infantry Battalion were conducting a military checkpoint along a road in Brgy Sangat when the suspects arrived on-board a motorcycle around 3:30 am. Instead of stopping, the suspects sped off while firing at the soldiers, who gave chase and returned fire thus killing the two suspected bomb courier.
Recovered from the suspects were two (2) Improvised Explosive Device (IED) placed in a brown paper bag. Authorities are still investigating the true motives of the suspects.ALS / AES / MCAG
