CANDON, Ilocos Sur (DWDD) – An encounter ensued between the Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) Army troops and the Communist Terrorist Group in the hinterlands of Isabela province today, August 4, 2018, at 7:35 this morning.

The thirty (30) minute firefight happened in Sitio Dibulod, Brgy. Dicamay 2, Jones, Isabela while the 86th Infantry Battalion (86IB) of Joint Task Force (JTF) “TALA”, under the 5th Infantry Division (5ID), was conducting combat operations and chanced on a group of the New People’s Army (NPA) in the area.

Developments in the incident are yet to be received as of this time.

NOLCOM will continue to pursue the NPA remnants in its area of responsibility to keep communities safe from Communist Terrorist threats and bring in government services for the Filipino people. NOLCOM / MCAG
