CAMP GEN SERVILLANO AQUINO, Tarlac City (DWDD) – Army troops of Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) encountered Communist New People’s Army Terrorist Group (CNTG) in the province of Isabela at 8:50 in the morning today, May 31, 2018 (Thursday).
While conducting Focus Military Operations (FMO), Army troopers from “C” Company of 86th Infantry Battalion (86IB), under the Joint Task Force (JTF) “Tala” of the 5th Infantry Division (5ID), skirmishes with more or less twenty (20) Terrorist NPA’s at Brgy Benguet, Echague, Isabela.
The firefight lasted for almost five (5) minutes prompting the enemy to withdraw to different directions. No casualty on the government side was reported by the operating troops while undetermined casualties on the enemy side as of the press time.
NOLCOM will continue to pursue the terrorist groups and other lawless elements that may undermine the peace and stability of the area, which eventually impacts on the development of the community. NOLCOM / MCAG
