CAMP GUILLERMO NAKAR, Lucena City (DWDD) – Soldiers overran on May 19, 2018, an abandoned New People’s Army camp in Umiray village, General Nakar town, Quezon Province.
According to Colonel Benavides, spokesman of the Southern Luzon Command (SOLCOM), soldiers from 80th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army while conducting security operations discovered an NPA camp with 30 makeshift huts that can accommodate more than 100 NPA terrorists. The camp possibly serves as a training ground of NPA terrorists because of the presence of an obstacle course.
Meanwhile, SOLCOM Commander, Lt General Danilo Pamonag, said that the discovery and overrunning of the NPA camp by our soldiers has thwarted their possible future training’s for planned attacks against our security forces.
