Fifty-one police commissioned officers under the Police
Regional Office (PRO)-18 completed the 45-day Tactical Commander’s Course
during the closing ceremony held Monday at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. here.
Chief Supt. Conrado Capa, director of PRO-18, said he
initiated the training to equip further police officers in the field both in
the fight against criminality and illegal activities, and the campaign against
counter-insurgency and terrorism.
Capa thanked the 6th Special Action Battalion of the
Philippine National Police-Special Action Force headed by Supt. Marlou Conag,
whose officers served as course instructors.
The trainees underwent five phases of scope of instruction.
These include Organization and Leadership; Mission Planning; Combat Operation;
Tactics and Training; Internal Defense Operation; and Field Training Exercises.
The course sought to prepare and equip officers with special
operational skills and tactics to make them more effective and efficient in
their respective assignments and prepare them to be future platoon, company,
and battalion unit commanders.
Participants included commissioned officers coming from the
PRO-18 headquarters, provincial and city police offices, and public safety forces
in Negros Island Region.
