Army gets new OAPM chief

From the Philippine News Agency (Aug 4): Army gets new OAPM chief

Col. Alberto C. Desoyo formally took over the Office of the Army Provost Marshall (OAPM) which is located in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City Monday.

The latter office is responsible for the enforcement of discipline, law and order among its military personnel.

Desoyo replaces OAPM officer-in-charge Lt. Col. Moises S. Medina in an assumption of office ceremony, presided by Philippine Army (PA) chief-of-staff Major Gen. Rafael C Valencia.

The OAPM is a special staff of the PA that investigates individual breaches of discipline involving Army personnel; assist judicial authorities; formulates and recommends directives and policies pertaining to investigation; encodes case records on the Discipline, Law and Order Information System; and conducts research and study.

Desoyo is a seasoned and disciplined combat officer having commanded various field units of the Philippine Army, to include, the 8th Military Intelligence Battalion; the 62nd Infantry Battalion; the 12th Infantry Battalion; and the 191st Military Police Battalion, Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group.
