From the Philippine News Agency (Jul 7): CIDG bags 2 rebels during General Santos operations

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group have arrested two members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army-National Democratic Front during operations at Purok 3, Lanton, Barangay Apopong, General Santos City Monday.

CIDG chief Director Benjamin B. Magalong identified the arrested rebels as couple Regina and Edgar Patulombon.

The two were arrested at 1 p.m. by combined operatives of CIDG Southern Mindanao, 10th Infantry Division and Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The two are wanted for kidnapping Army personnel sometimes in June 2013.

Regina is the chairman of Medical Team of Southern Mindanao Region and is capable of doing medical surgery as she did to a wounded rebel commander.

Recovered from the two rebels were a caliber .38 revolver and two fragmentation grenades.
