From InterAksyon (Jan 12): Blast rocks Cotabato City, bomb found in North Cotabato
The entire length of Gonzalo Javier Street, Rosary Heights-7 was jolted by an explosion from a rifle grenade past 9 p.m. Sunday.
The explosion occurred near the office of the Sultan Kudarat Descendants Organization of the Philippines.
Initial reports from 5th Special Forces Commander Lt. Rannie Sevilla, one M203 grenade launcher exploded.
No one was hurt in the explosion, but it destroyed windows of nearby structures.
Two men on a motorcycle were spotted near the bomb site minutes before the explosion.
Police are still finding out who are behind the explosion and what their motivations are.
In a related development, a homemade bomb was recovered in Midsayap, North Cotabato by the police past 9 p.m. Sunday.
The bomb was made of 81 mm mortar, North Cotabato police director Senior Superintendent Danilo Peralta.
It was found in Poblacion 7 near a mosque.
Authorities immediately alerted the entire province for the threat of terrorism.
Earlier, a homemade bomb was discovered in the town of Pikit Friday night, while a bomb also exploded in the town of Mlang.
