The Philippine Air Force (PAF) on Tuesday announced that it has received brand-new radio electrical, instruments (REI) and precision measuring equipment laboratory (PMEL) worth P42.02 million.
The said equipment will be added to the inventory of the 410th Maintenance Wing which is based in Clark Field, Pampanga.
PAF spokesmann Col. Miguel Ernesto Okol said the new equipment aims to address the current capability gap in attending to aircraft REI components repair, overhaul and calibration.
While the PMEL will serve as a facility in which modification, measurement and repair of precision tools and equipment takes place.
With this capability, Okol said the PAF can now ensure reliability, accuracy, and traceability on its systems, subsystems, and equipment for all its aircraft.
