CALOOCAN CITY, June 23 (PIA)--The Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. (AFPMBAI) has donated P14.1 Million worth of vehicles to the Armed Forces of the Philippines for its mobility and logistic operations.
The donations were received by the AFP Chief of Staff General Felimon Santos Jr., from retired Major General Robert Arevalo, AFPMBAI President and CEO in a simple turn over ceremony on June 22, 2020
The ceremony was also attended by the AFP Vice Chief of Staff Vice Admiral Gaudencio Collado Jr and the Vice Commander of the Philippine Army MGen Reynaldo Aquino.
The AFP General Headquarters and the Philippine Army are the recipients of the said donations.The donations include one minibus, five vans, and four multi-purpose vehicles.
“The AFP once again expresses its gratitude for the unceasing generosity of the Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. for donating more than 14M worth of vehicles to the AFP that will help us in our mobility and logistics operations. We hope that the private sector like the AFPMBAI will never get tired of assisting and cooperating with the public sector, and the Bayanihan spirit to continue to inspire each and every one of us especially in this time of crisis brought by the COVID19,” General Santos said.
Last May of 2020, the AFPMBAI also donated P26M worth of medical equipment which were distributed to various medical facilities of the AFP and were equally received and thanked by the AFP Chief.
The Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) and the Philippine National Police also received vehicles and medical equipment donations during the ceremony which were received by Brigadier General Mariano Mejia (Ret), Chief, Medical Professional Staff of VMMC and PMGen Alfred Corpus, AFPMBAI Board of Trustee respectively.
