LIMANG SUNDALO ANG nasawi sa aksyong militar na inilunsad ng Bagong Hukbong Bayan (BHB)-Mindoro noong Enero 26. Binigwasan ng BHB ang pwersa ng 4th IB sa Sityo Kianay, Barangay Naibuan, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

Ayon kay Ka Madaay Gasic, tagapagsalita ng BHB-Mindoro, ang armadong aksyon ay tugon sa tumitinding nakapokus na operasyong militar sa Timog Mindoro. Nagsimula ang pananalasa ng militar noong Enero 11 sa Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro at sa mga bayan ng Magsaysay at San Jose sa Occidental Mindoro.

Sagot din ang opensiba sa Retooled Community Support Program Operations na ginagamit ng AFP para linlangin at takutin ang mga mamamayan ng Mindoro.
