Army repairs recovered NPA motorized boat, donates to school in San Mariano town

From the Philippine Information Agency (Feb 16, 2020): Army repairs recovered NPA motorized boat, donates to school in San Mariano town (By Mark Djeron C. Tumabao and Salaknib Infantry Battalion)

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Feb. 15 (PIA)—The 95th Infantry Salaknib Battalion based in San Mariano, in this province, repaired the recovered motorized boat owned by the New People's Army (NPA) and donated it to the school at barangay Dibuluan in the said town for school and community use.

The Salaknib painted the both sides of the boat with “BANGKA PARA SA EDUKASYON NG MGA BATA” on the its left part and “I LOVE DIBULUAN” on its right part. A new propeller was also bought by the battalion.

Sometime in February 2019, the said boat was made purposely to ferry members of Cagayan Regional Forces of NPA to burn Bio-Ethanol Plant located in San Mariano, Isabela, however, the timely redeployment of this unit has prevented the NPA regional major terroristic offensive.

As revealed by the former rebels who were with the group at that time, all NPA forces of KR-CV Regional with augmentation from the SGU of Central Front were already hiding in the cornfields beside the river bank which is less than 500 meters from the Bio Ethanol.

Their members were agitated by their CNT leaders stating that the plant has been dumping their waste in the river which they later learned was a lie. If the enemy terroristic plan was realized, it could have left a thousand residents of the Province of Isabela jobless. (MDCT, with reports from Salaknib Infatry Battalion/PIA-2)
