A joint military-police-PDEA drug enforcement operation led to the neutralization of four drug personalities in Sitio Luuk Pandan Higad, Barangay Luuk Pandan, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi at 3:30am today, September 17, 2019.
Combined elements of the Joint Task Force Tawi-Tawi’s Marine Battalion Landing Team-9, 51st Special Action Company, PNP Maritime Group, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency were conducting law enforcement operation to serve the Warrant of Arrest against Ibno Suhod Jaani a.k.a Suyung when the subject open fired prompting the apprehending team to retaliate.
The hour-long exchange of fires resulted in the deaths of Jaani and three of his cohorts, and the recovery of one Caliber .45 pistol, one M16 rifle attached/M203, and one Caliber .30 Garand.
Further, the firefight also resulted in the death of 1 and wounding of 3 PNP SAF troopers.
“We would like to acknowledge our intelligence teams for their active participation through information gathering that led to the successful neutralization of the suspect and his cronies,” said Lieutenant General Cirilito Sobejana, Commander of the Western Mindanao Command.
Jaani was a notorious gun for hire with 3 Warrants of Arrest for murder and a notorious seller and supplier of illegal drugs (shabu) in the area.
“Rest assured that team WestMinCom will sustain its law enforcement support operations to assist other agencies in the conduct of the anti-illegal drug operations to clear Western and Central Mindanao,” Lt. Gen. Sobejana.
