CLAVERIA, Misamis Oriental -- Forty (40) former rebels (FRs) successfully finished the Mushroom Culture Training here last September 14, 2019.
The livelihood training was conducted by 58th Infantry Battalion (IB) in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Glenalbee Mushrooms Farm Incorporated.
The said training is one of the benefits that FRs can avail under the reintegration program. Further, the skill they acquired through this livelihood training will help them to start their own small-scale business for extra income to eradicate them from poverty.
‘’Atong gisagubang karun ang kalisod pero tungod sa tabang sa kasundaluhan ug sa ubang ahensya sa gobyerno gitudlo nila unsaun nato sa pagbarog sa atong kaugalingon arun muabante ang atong pagpamuyo ug busa magmakugi kita nga makatoon sa mushroom training kay nagatoo ako nga ang usa ka butang kung isalig nato sa kahitas-an dili sya magmakuli nga hatagan ta niya sa positibong resulta‘’, said Rosalie L Arona, @Mesay, former NPA Political Officer and one of the skills training participant.
"We are now coping with difficulties but with the help of the army and other government agencies, they taught us how to stand up and improve our lives that is why we have to exert all our efforts to learn from the mushroom training because I believe that if we trust in the Heavens, He will not fail to give us positive results."
Lt Col Roy Anthony Derilo, Commanding Officer of 58IB said the mushroom training is the start of individual empowerment of FRs. "We want to ensure that they can stand with their own feet upon their reintegration to the mainstream society. The MisOr E-CLIP Committee will continue to economically empower and develop our FRs with the help of different LGUs and government agencies," he added. (58th IB)
