The amphibious assault landing event of this year's joint exercise "DAGIT-PA" will be moved to September 21 instead of Thursday due to inclement weather in Zambales.

"To all media who registered their names for the AJEX DAGIT-PA Amphibious Landing Exercise in Zambales, please be advised that due to inclement weather in Zambales, the activity is moved from 19 September 2019 (Thursday) to 21 September (Saturday). the "DAGIT-PA" public affairs office team, headed by Capt. Rhyan Batchar, said in a message to reporters Wednesday.

"DAGIT-PA" stands for “Dagat-Langit-Lupa”, is an AFP-wide exercise aimed at enhancing interoperability during joint operations of the Navy, Air Force and Army.

"We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused," the team added.

The amphibious assault exercise, which was supposed to be held at the Naval Education and Training Center at San Antonio, Zambales, will feature for the first time the newly-acquired amphibious assault vehicles (AAVs) of the Philippine Navy.

The first four AAVs were commissioned on June 17 and the second batch of four is scheduled to be activated late this month. All eight AAVs, which was acquired from South Korean defense manufacturer Hanwha Techwin, is worth PHP2.42 billion.

These vehicles are armed with .50 caliber machine guns, 40mm grenade launchers and smoke launchers. "DAGIT-PA" started on September 16 and will end on September 27.
