The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) got to test its new equipment during military exercises launched on Monday, which was participated by the Navy, Air Force and Army.
The “Dagit-PA” (Dagat-Langit-Lupa or Sea-Sky-Earth) exercises focus on territorial and cyber defense.
Around 1,500 soldiers from the three commands will join the 11-day drills that will be held in San Antonio, Zambales (amphibious landing), Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija (airfield seizure and military operations in urban terrain), Tarlac (combined arms live fire exercise) and Palawan (air-maritime interdiction operation).
Cdre. Adelius Bordado, commander of the Armed Forces’ Education, Training and Doctrine Command and the drills’ exercise director, said the exercises would be a chance to test some of the military’s newly acquired equipment, including amphibious assault vehicles, a naval landing dock, several Air Force aircraft and the BRP Conrado Yap (PS-39).
