Authorities confiscated a suspected flag of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), an explosive device, and a rifle grenade from a suspected terrorist whom they arrested in General Santos City on Tuesday.
An initial report from the Soccsksargen police identified the suspect as Jomar Antang, alias Potpot, an alleged member of the Ansar Al Khilafah Philippines, who was arrested in Barangay Bawing at about 6 a.m.
Antang was arrested by virtue of two search warrants for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (Republic Act No. 10591) or and the law on the illegal manufacture, sales, and possession of firearms and explosives (Republic Act No. 9516).
Aside from the explosives and the ISIS flag, authorities also seized from the suspect a .38-caliber revolver loaded with four bullets.
