SANTIAGO, Agusan Del Norte (DWDD) – The Alpha Company of the 29th Infantry “Matatag” Battalion, under 2Lt Jade Bryce G Buñe, while conducting combat operations, encountered an undetermined number of Communist Terrorists (CNTs) under Platoon 1, SDG Guerilla Front 16, North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NEMRC) led by an alias Rejem at the vicinity of Baranggay San Isidro in Santiago, Agusan Del Norte.

According to reports, the firefight lasted for about 5 minutes, after which the enemy scampered towards the western direction.

The encounter resulted in the death of one (1) enemy and the recovery of one (1) Caliber 5.56mm M16 rifle; one (1) bandoleer with 6 magazines and ammunition; and one (1) cellular phone.

Troops of the 29IB continued conducting pursuit operations against the enemy. 29IB Matatag / MCAG
