From ABS-CBN (Oct 22): Reds torch heavy equipment in Bukidnon

Suspected New People's Army rebels set fire to heavy equipment used for a road construction project in Barangay San Jose, San Fernando, Bukidnon, Tuesday night.

The equipment were owned by UBI Corporation, the contractors involved in the San Fernando - Davao road project.

Members of the 58th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army identified the perpetrators as members of the NPA.

The incident occured after the contractors allegedly refused to pay a revolutionary tax worth P1 million.
