The United States’ secretary of the Navy, Ray Mabus, will visit the Philippines to further enhance maritime security and other relations in the Asian region, the US Embassy in Manila said on Thursday. Embassy spokeswoman Bettina Malone said Mabus would meet with US and Philippine officials to discuss cooperation in humanitarian assistance, disaster relief operations and other areas. Mabus is the 75th US secretary of the Navy and Marine Corps, and he is responsible for an annual budget in excess of $150 billion and almost 900,000 people. He was appointed by President Barrack Obama in 2009....
