United States Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) Brian L. Goldbeck lauded students and teachers of Kalumpang Elementary School for demonstrating the spirit of ‘bayanihan’ that enabled them to weather recent calamities.  In a release, Goldbeck led the turnover of books, first-aid kits and sports equipment from the U.S. Government to Kalumpang Elementary School during a community outreach event organized by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).... Goldbeck was joined by members of the the U.S. Navy from the visiting USS George Washington Aircraft Carrier Strike Group, together with members of the Philippine Navy. A simultaneous interactive classroom read-along activities and basic first-aid information sessions with students were also held, and a basketball clinic at the barangay basketball court....
