CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City--The Armed Forces of the Philippines led by its Chief of Staff, General Romeo Brawner Jr, assured its sustained commitment to the Bangsamoro peace process in a ceremony on January 11 in Taguig City.Organized by the Principles for Peace Foundation, the "Recommitment Ceremony towards a Vibrant Bangsamoro" convened government officials including Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr, the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity; Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao officials; and representatives from various sectors.
"It is the soldier, more than anyone else, who wants lasting peace and [our participation in this activity] is a manifestation of our commitment towards attaining a lasting peace. We are here to show our brothers in the Moro Islamic Liberation Front that we are serious when it comes to the peace process," General Brawner Jr said.
