On January 17, 2022, in Brgy. Fatima, Hinabangan, Samar, the Army's 801st Infantry "Bantay at Gabay" Brigade (801st Bde) with 8th Infantry "Stormtroopers" Division (8ID) facilitated the 13 CPP-NPA Terrorists (CNTs) surrender.

The 801st Brigade's persistent military operations, which resulted in the capitulation of 13 CNTs and the recovery of various war material in Samar, were lauded by Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr.
